Instructions for the installation of Thermano thermal insulation boards on a three-layer wall.

PIR boards are among the best materials to ensure the insulation of buildings.
Investing in insulation class A++ significantly reduces the need for energy needed to cool or reheat rooms. This translates directly into lower emissivity, and clearly noticeable savings in the form of lower bills. Investment in insulation pays for itself after just 3-4 heating seasons.

How much does it cost to insulate walls?

Depending on the technology used, the cost of the thermal insulation of walls can vary considerably. The cost of purchasing and installing the outer layer of the partition will be different, e.g. for a panel for seams, façade siding, and a brick wall. However, the cost of purchasing and installing the insulation itself can be approximated:

Installing Thermano panels is quick and easy, and can also be done by yourself. The panels can be processed easily, as it is enough to cut them properly and fasten them to the structure with screws.

Insulating a three-layer wall step by step.

You will need the following to install the thermal insulation: Thermano panels, polyurethane glue or mechanical connectors, aluminium tape, screws, and strips for substructure assembly.

The assembly procedure of thermal insulation of polyurethane panels does not differ much from the installation of thermal insulation of Styrofoam boards. First, the Thermano panels should be fixed to the wall. The fixing is only needed for the sake of panel stabilisation.

1.The fixing is only needed for the sake of panel stabilisation. The wall must be flat enough so that the Thermano panels adhere to it thoroughly with their entire surface. The panels can be attached using polyurethane glue or mechanical connectors. In the case of the construction presented here, plastic connectors were used.

2. The next stage of work involves securing all the joints between panels with aluminium tape. This will ensure appropriate tightness of the system. As an additional protection, a vapour breathing membrane may, but does not have to, be used.

3. Next, you can start the assembly of the substructure for the façade elements. The strips are mounted vertically, usually at a distance of 50-60 cm from one another. The strips are fixed to the structural wall with long screws. In the case of this construction, the Contractor used long mounting pins.

4. If the façade consists of vertical elements, the vertical substructure must be supplemented with horizontally mounted strips.

5. After the substructure assembly, the only thing left is the façade installation.

Thermano is perfectly suitable for thermal insulation of walls, floors or roofs. In this case the Investor chose to use Thermano panels also on the roof, which will allow for comprehensive insulation of the entire building against excessive heat and cold.

Due to very good thermal insulation properties, Thermano installation allows for significant savings in heating costs. The panel durability guarantees your house protection for the needs of several generations.

With the Thermano thermal insulation installed...

  • You will gain peace of mind for years to come. Once installed, the boards will bring significant savings on heating the house in winter and cooling it in summer. You’ll see it every season by comparing your energy bills.

  • PIR boards are extremely durable, and their service life is comparable to that of bricks. The material does not absorb moisture, and its structure prevents damage by animals, e.g. rodents and birds.
