Thermano Alu PIR thermal insulation boards
THERMALLY STABLE WITH MOULD AND FUNGI RESISTANCE
The Thermano Alu thermal insulation for buildings is the best solution for superior optimization and stability of the indoor climate in agricultural buildings — no matter what the weather.
Thermano Alu protects from the summer heat and also keeps the animals warm in winter. The uniform white colour on the inner side provides a neutral environment for breeding in buildings. Aside from their superior thermal insulation performance, Thermano Alu panels are highly resistance to ammonia corrosion, mould and fungal infestation, and even nesting by vermin (insects, rodents or birds).
Thermano means thermal insulation board with polyisocyanurate (PIR) cores, which ensures the lowest thermal conductivity coefficient of all popular thermal insulating materials in construction engineering. The ageing lambda, λ = 0.023 (W/mK), guarantees better thermal insulation of any structure, even though the insulation layer is nearly half the thickness of the majority of other insulation materials.
The right insulation of livestock buildings gives:
- Better productivity and profitability of animal rearing
- Maximum lactation yield and stable body mass build-up
- Optimum usage of feed value
- Eliminated heat stress in summer
- Lower disease incidence rate among the animals
- Longer storage of crops
- Minimised daily temperature variations

The chief material used in the production of Thermano Alu panels is polyisocyanurate (PIR), secured on both sides with a gas-tight cladding, comprising several polymer layers and aluminium foil.
The high gas-tightness of Thermano Alu panels ensures stability of the thermal insulating parameters over long periods of time, unlike other polyurethane-based materials without the cladding, i.e. spray-applied (in situ) materials.
The Thermano PIR core is formed by polymerisation of its two main components, polyols and isocyanates, with additional modifiers. The PIR core is a closed cell structure, which means that the material is an essential barrier to capillary wicking of water and steam (water vapour) diffusion.
Thermano Alu panels exhibit excellent mechanical performance, durability, low absorbability and other physical and chemical characteristics which mark the material out for application in even the most demanding construction environments.
